Now let’s get into the Rice Krispie treat- this batch makes About 10-14 Hearts
Ingredients:
1/2 Cup of Unsalted Butter
5 Cups of Marshmallows (separated into two portions: 4 cups and 1 cup)
6 Cups of Rice Krispies Cereal
1 Tsp of Vanilla Extract
2 Cups of White Chocolate Wafers
Pink Food Coloring
You'll Also Need:
Heart-Shaped Cookie Cutter
Baking Tray
Wax Paper
Large Pot
LET'S GET COOKING:
Step 1: Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add in 4 cups of marshmallows, reduce heat to low, and stir until completely melted. I find it is best to keep stirring as you do not want the marshmallows to burn.
Step 2: Take the pot off the heat, mix in the entire 6 cups of Rice Krispie cereal, the remaining 1 cup of marshmallows, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
Step 3: Line a baking tray with wax paper and place the Rice Krispies on top. Place another sheet of wax paper over top and use your hands to press the mixture evenly into the tray.
Step 4: Place in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
Step 4: After cooling, cut out heart shapes with your cookie cutter. Don’t let the leftovers go to waste – press them into the cookie cutter to make a few more hearts!
3. CHOCOLATE MAGIC:
Step 5: Melt the white chocolate using the double boiler method. Set half aside, and add a tiny bit of pink food colouring to the other half to make it pretty in pink.
Step 6: Dip each heart halfway into the white or pink chocolate. Get creative! Use a fork or piping bag to drizzle alternate chocolate colours for a fun pattern.
Step 7: Place them back on the wax paper to dry in the fridge.
And there you have it friends – your very own batch of Chocolate Rice Krispie Hearts, ready to spread love and joy this Valentine's Day. Whether you're making them for your kids, your friends, or just to treat yourself (because you totally deserve it!), these treats are bound to bring smiles all around.
