Unstoppable T-Shirts - Summer T-Shirt for Mental Health

Earlier this year I founded Unstoppable Prints Co, a social enterprise located in Ottawa, ON. Unstoppable Prints Co creates beautiful minimalistic prints while placing a huge importance on giving back to the community. The main goal is to raise funds and awareness for different initiatives in our city, primarily aimed at helping mothers and their children.

Unstoppable Prints Co is introducing the perfect summer t-shirt print which donates a portion towards mental health. It has always been a goal to add a t-shirt into our mix of prints. When deciding which design to select for our first launch, I knew this swimsuit print would be the perfect summer addition.

The three swimsuits represent a woman’s confidence and how incredible our bodies truly are. Very often we feel judged or are self conscious in our own skin. Postpartum tends to accentuate those concerns as we are learning to love our new bodies. I want every woman to feel comfortable in their skin and give them the confidence to wear the damn swimsuit! After all, we should be extremely proud of our bodies and what they are capable of.

Loving your body does not always come easy and mamas know this all too well. Our bodies are stretchier than we are accustomed too, it has new lines and wrinkles, and overall is simply different than we previously remember. It’s important to tell yourself how appreciative you are of your body. Our bodies do incredible things which need to be celebrated each and every day!

$5 of every t-shirt sold will be donated to The Mental Health Gala, a local initiative spreading awareness and ending the stigma surrounding mental illness in Canada. This initiative was extremely suiting for this launch as mothers go through so much during pregnancy and postpartum. More needs to be discussed regarding a mother’s mental health during these times. After birth we are taught how to heal physically and how to take care of our wounds. Very little is taught on how to recover mentally or how to acknowledge when you may need to reach out for help. I hope in donating towards mental health, more is done for everyone experiencing mental illness including mothers raising the next generation.
