My Personal Style… 1 Bodysuit, 5 Ways
Choosing words to describe my fashion sense is not a simple task. Words such as classic, timeless and feminine are not exactly "me." I unquestionably have my classic or feminine moments; however, I prefer to think of my style as more of a chameleon, changing from day to day depending on factors including my mood, current trends, the weather and even the 2020 lockdown.
Fashion is another way to express myself creatively. I adore lace, floral, embroidery and silk, but I am also obsessed with edgier pieces including leather, ripped jeans, studs and sequence. I love colour while having a strong appreciation for a neutral tonal ensemble. I truthfully never lean towards black, although I possess several black staple pieces I oh so love. Fall is my absolute favourite as I have a fascination for boots, cozy sweaters and jackets! My husband could attest to the fact that I can fill an entire closet with these alone.
Truthfully, the majority of this year my outfits have consisted of the same pair of mom jeans and alternating my oversized graphic-tees. High-waisted compression leggings are also a must-have for this mama! Since everyone is living in loungewear this year, and my treasured pieces are collecting DUST, I thought it would be entertaining to do a styling edit where I showcase a few of my favourites and HANG UP the leggings for a day!
I picked out my essential bodysuit and demonstrate how it can be transformed from casual to dressy, from day to night! Here is the Aritizia Contour Bodysuit by Babaton. This piece is extremely versatile, it is my go-to and retails for $48. The square neckline gives it that perfect 2020 trend but if that's not your thing, it comes in different variations including v-neck, crew neck, long sleeve and one shoulder! For reference, I am wearing a size small and would recommend sizing up as this baby is snug!

From floral pants, to a silk skirt or paired with a leather jacket, I told you it is versatile! You can easily pair it under a blazer for work or with your go-to mom jeans, I promise you will not regret this purchase! I should mention that purses rarely make it into my outfits these days as I usually have a diaper bag or small child attached to my hip. Also, I hardly wear jewelry as it immediately attracts little fingers. After getting your earrings or necklace pulled ONCE you quickly realize it may be best they are away from your child’s preying eyes.
Style is unique to each individual, so have fun with it! Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Whether you want to be daring and unique or classic and timeless; just do YOU! Upon further thought, I came up with a few words that describe my style today...TREND-DRIVEN, POLISHED, BOLD, MODERN & FUN! Don't be surprised if this chameleon comes up with a different set of words soon. Whatever you wear, do not forget your smile, it's your best accessory!
