Ripped Paper Snowflakes - Winter Activity for Kids
Winter is here, and while the first big snowfalls make for exciting outdoor play, I find as cooler weather hits, we need more winter inspired activities to keep the kids entertained indoors.
Ripped paper snowflakes brings the winter indoors and makes for a great activity for your little ones, especially for those freezing cold days. While we love winter for all the fort making, tobogganing, skating, sliding, and snowman building, some days are just too darn cold to be outside for long periods of time, especially living here in Ottawa. Keep your fingers warm, fill up some hot chocolates, and try this activity with your kids this winter.
You Will Need:
Glue Stick
Marker or Pencil Crayon
Construction Paper (Preferably shades of blue and white)
White Paper
To prep, simply use a ruler to draw out different snowflakes on multiple sheets of white paper. Next, you will want to rip pieces of the blue and white construction paper and place them in a bowl ready for use.
When you are ready for the indoor activity, lay the snowflakes out with some glue sticks and the bowl of ripped paper. Have your child trace out the snowflake lines using the glue stick and then stick the ripped paper to the lines. Each snowflake will be unique!
A little mom tip, the smaller the ripped paper pieces, the longer it will take your child to cover the entire snowflake….YOU’RE welcome!
Prepare some hot chocolates and a second coffee for you mama, and try this activity today!
