Rainbow Rice - A Classic Sensory Must Do!

I am no expert with sensory play, but if you’re a new mom like me (or new to toddlerhood) then save the online searching and Pintresting, I’ve already exhausted that!
Here is a fun activity that involves some prep work, but it can last FOREVER!! Well, at least until your vacuum sucks up the majority of these bad boys.
Truth be told, this is an all time favourite in our household. I have it out for a few days and then put it away for the next rainy day. I promise the amount of prep work does pay off and your toddler will get hours of play out of this one. But hey, anything longer than 15 minutes is also considered a success.

1) Separate white rice into Ziplock Bags. TIP: Save the ziplocks for future projects (old margarine containers also work great)
2) Add 4-5 drops of food colouring and a teaspoon of vinegar
3) Shake your butt…I mean BAG… shake the bag.
4) Repeat with as many colours as you wish
5) Empty the rice onto banking trays and let sit overnight
6) Place in sensory bin
7) Watch your kid(s) PLAY and pour yourself the biggest mug of coffee imaginable.
