Mess Free Painting - Toddler Sensory Activity
My children love painting! The excitement in their eyes when mama sets up a painting sensory activity is nothing short of amazement. The problem is, mama doesn’t always love painting. Truthfully, I have to be in a mood for it because painting involves putting out drop sheets, fighting with my toddlers to wear their painting robes, and usually cleaning up splattered paint from unintended surfaces . I’ll admit, when they ask to paint I smile on the outside while letting out a slight cry on the inside as I know we are in for a mess.
Okay okay, call me dramatic, but it’s the truth! If you are anything like me, boy do I have the PERFECT sensory painting activity for you.
Here is mess free painting! It’s simple, fun, and zero clean up. Yes mama, I said zero!
You Will Need:
Washable Paint
Colouring Pages (grab my free colouring sheets HERE)
Clear Plastic Bag / Ziploc
Tape
Simply place some paint blobs on a blank piece of paper or on my colouring sheets and insert page into any clear plastic bag. You can use a large Ziploc bag, a clear divider holder, or any clear plastic bag you may have laying around. Just make sure one end is completely sealed. I usually place an extra layer of tape on that outer edge to make sure it is fully secure. Adding this extra layer of tape is essential to ensure there is no leakage! This truly is a mess free toddler activity.
Once ready, have your child mix the colours around using their fingers! You can even have some spoons laying around for them to press into the paper with.
